Q1. Swanky Mag: Hello Justin, can you introduce yourself to Swanky Kids Magazine readers? Can you tell us a little about you?
My name is Justin Haynes, Designer/Tailor of my own brand JUS10H. Born and raised in Springfield, Ma. Just recently launched my new Luxury label under JUS10H called, ONYX
Q2. Why did you choose fashion designing as a career?
This is a childhood dream. It’s my passion. I love Fashion. I love creating well-constructed garments.

Q3. Which area of fashion do you specialise in? Did you always want to work in that area?
I specialize in Men’s, Women’s, and Children's Clothing. I’ve always wanted to create and style for all ages, all genders…. Fashion for everyone!
Q4. Please briefly describe your style for our readers.
My style is unique, very modern vintage. It’s a colorful mix of tailored patterns and garments.

Q5. Where do you get inspiration from when creating any design?
I get my inspiration from the vintage era of the 60s and 70s. Everyone just dressed well in those times. My goal is to continue to bring those classic looks back in this modern century that we are currently in.

Q6. What do you love about being a fashion designer?
I love creating. I love being known for well-constructed garments on my customers.
Q7. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
A paid professional of course. This is my career. This is not a hobby or a game for me.

Q8. What has been the most memorable moment of your career and why?
I have so many! I think the most memorable would be my Billboards in Times Square NY.
Q9. What’s the hardest part of your job?
Remaining Relevant. I’m a stickler for “NEW”. I like new content. So it’s hard sometimes to keep that up with my schedule. But I get it done ☺️

Q10. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new upcoming fashion designer looking to start their own business and pursue a career as a designer?
Stay Consistent! If you start it. Finish it. See it all the way through. Customers enjoy brands they can trust.
Q11. According to you, what are the skills that are necessary for becoming a successful fashion designer?
Fashion Education! Perfecting your craft daily. You can’t work successfully on something you don’t really know.
Q12. How do you stay updated with the trends in the fashion industry?
I don’t follow trends honestly…. I make them!
Q13. What do you think of our new magazine?
I think your publication is great. It gives young creative models a chance to shine. I love that it’s geared toward Kids Fashion & Styling
