Swanky Magazine Interviews the wonderfully talented individual - Rosa Fortuny
ACTOR/ACTRESS SPOTLIGHT | Actress Rosa Fortuny is from Barcelona but lives in Madrid
We caught up with her to ask a little more about her fabulous journey, and to take a look at her being ‘truthful’ submission.
The photos in black and white represent you just being, the photos eating represent how women are when they are not judging themselves nor others by just letting themselves be on their own. The photo smoking represents the anger towards society, the " not care what you think", women don't need to pretend that they just eat salads or healthy food.
Q1.Swanky Mag: Hello Rosa, Can you introduce yourself to Swanky Magazine's readers? Can you tell us a little about you?
Hi, my name is Rosa Fortuny, I'm an actress, I love getting out of my comfort zone even though I have my own fears when the time comes and I get anxious about it but always getting out of the box is the best that can happen to me. Thank you for having me here today.

Q2. How and when did you get into acting?
I'd say acting got to me. One day I was watching one of Julia Robert's comedy films and saw her crying. So, the 8 years old me got in front of a mirror and started thinking of bad things that happened to me, like when my grandma passed away and I made myself cry and then I got very happy. Now, none of this was planned, it's just how it went but saying it sounds a bit crazy for an 8-year-old. Then, I joined the theater club during my primary school years and there I was at my huge premiere (jk) and saw my grandma on the first row and waved at me, cute, huh? Well, my silly young forgot her only two lines and the professor/"director" was whispering me the lines until I said them. And the tony award goes to... Haha, miss my strong stubborn sweet grandma.
Q3.What attracted you to begin a career as an actor?
The everyday challenge first, the get to know yourself better, then get to know your good stuff and your bad stuff. Not that you love it when you realize that you have to work harder on something of you but on the long run I love it and some days is harder and some days is easier but I think it's about the way we look at things.

Q4. Did you take up any training in acting?
Sure thing. I graduated in Barcelona, did my master's there as well. Started learning acting in Spanish to then train acting in English. Went to Florence, Los Angeles, and stayed there for almost 4 years. Then moved to Madrid. I learned different methods and am still willing to try other methods to then take just every bit that works for me. I think actors need to train as if their body would be the guitar of the guitarist from Guns & Roses.
Q5. Who are your biggest influences?
As a kid my mother watched all Julia Robert's films, so I fell in love with her smile, also the great and funny Cary Grant, the brilliant and sweet Audry Hepburn. I also grew up watching "Friends" and "7 Vidas" (a sitcom from Spain). Then, big motivators are Tarantino's and Kubrick's craziness, Wes Anderson's surreal worlds, and color palette... Almost forgot, Brad Pitt has motivated me as well a lot.
Q6. Which role that you have played you like the most?
Loved playing Valena in "Cross Words Together", it was a challenge, had to be very concentrated during the filming of it because she was broken, so to me, when I do a character, concentration is everything and once it's done then it's when I drop it.

Q7.What do you love about acting?
I love that when I'm acting and I'm playing a role that it's at that moment when breaks or maybe it's just the character that has no filter and says it as it comes, that's the most fun for me. I also want to be in an action movie and get to do some crazy jumps and get physical, I know it's not the typical "I want to break in front of the camera" kind of thing but I just feel like a kid and acting is the most fun game.
Q8. What has been your most memorable session and why?
"Three Pick-Up Artists" was very interesting because I had to be in a bathtub full of blood and that was very fun because I love Tarantino's films. What I found very challenging was when in the middle of the shooting of "Cross Words Together" the director added a new scene wherein one single shot I had to go to the bathroom, have a pregnancy home test, and then break myself into pieces. I remember the pressure of doing it right and let myself be relaxed so that the acting would be organic because it was almost lunchtime and we were shooting since very early in the morning and everyone wanted to go eat. In the end, I did three takes.

Q9. Can you tell us a bit about your next project?
What I can say is that it's a comedy with some action as well. I play a police officer bit clumsy and very funny together with her partner that always ends up arguing at the most random places while working. Plot twist, he gets kidnapped and she needs to find him before the bad ones kill him.
Q10. Name a character you would want to play.
I'd love to play Rachel McAdams as Esti in "Disobedience", I'd love to play Monica or Rachel in "Friends", I'd love that Modern family had another supporting role and that'd be Sofia's Vergara cousin.
Q11. What advice do you have for an artist who wants to break into acting?
Believe in yourself even when people doubt you, and TRAIN ALWAYS.
