CHINAKWE is a premium, contemporary, Afro Lux, art and lifestyle brand founded by artist, stylist and designer, Caroline Chinakwe. The brand is rooted in the artist's African heritage and European upbringing which shows her creative use of prints, fashion styling and bold colours to depict her passion for her cultural influences. Chinakwe's product range includes limited edition mixed media art prints, bold fashion pieces and luxury bespoke custom home furnishings.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Caroline Chinakwe is a Nigerian-born, London-based mixed media artist. Caroline is known for her colourful, powerful, and unapologetic visuals that capture the beauty found in black culture and style, all while addressing social issues that affect people of colour. She draws from her natural creative abilities and her experience as a stylist and designer to make art that has her very unique signature on it.
Chinakwe is pleased to announce a new opportunity for lovers of art, bespoke lifestyle products and NFTs to celebrate collectively at their new temporary pop-up shop. Located on one of the major shopping destinations in the West End of London, their Oxford Street store will allow guests to experience the meaning of Afro-luxe lifestyle. The event will be running over the course of three days and will host an exclusive opening event for VIPs and press on Friday 29th July 2022 from 5pm to 8pm. Guests can expect music, refreshments and a first look at new limited edition Afro-Pop prints that artist Caroline Chinakwe will debut.
The opening of the store will be one of the many steps artist and founder Caroline Chinakwe has taken to conquer the huge gap in the market for African lifestyle products that interlink with Western-style. The Chinakwe pop-up store will offer modern consumers with products that represent African culture and history in a cool, classy, yet bold way. Some of the pieces that will be showcased include limited edition Afro-Pop prints alongside lifestyle products such as fashion pieces and home interior soft furnishings, all in Caroline’s signature art prints. The store will be transformed to showcase afrolux chic to culture enthusiasts looking to invite African culture into their homes, wardrobes and life.
Guest will also have the opportunity to stay digitally connected with one of the new projects artist Caroline Chinakwe has been working on since the start of 2022. A selection of mock-up artwork Caroline has created for the Women Of Tomorrow NFT collection will be featured around the store on a multitude of digital screens. Visitors can truly immerse themselves in the striking collection of 4,000 NFTS created to represent a celebration of all the cultural influence we share in our lives that makes us all equal.
