PHOTOGRAPHER SPOTLIGHT | Antonina Proskurina from Russia
Q1.Swanky Mag: Hello, Can you introduce yourself to Swanky Magazine's readers? Can you tell us a little about you?
Hi! My name is Antonina Proskurina, I am a photographer from Russia. It's been a long way to photography, and now I feel like I'm doing what I have to do.
Q2. How, and when did you get into photography, and what does photography mean to you?
I bought a camera in 2017 and from that moment on I embody ideas. Photography is my style of communicating with the world. I tell fabulous stories, I try to draw the viewer's attention to the fact that it is possible to live in harmony with the world, that there is no reason for separation, there is no reason for envy because all people are beautiful. Each person is unique and it is amazing and delightful.
Q4.Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers, and Which area of fashion do you specialize in?
My favorite genres are female portraits, fine art.
Q5.Where do you get your inspiration from?
I am inspired by famous photographers, beautiful art, fantasy films, fantasy books. Sometimes ideas come in a dream, or I come up with images together with models and a stylist
Q6. Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?
Usually, I imagine what kind of shots I want to get, sometimes I make a sketch, but often everything does not go according to plan. But this is also for the good, sometimes an unexpected wonderful result is obtained. I believe that there is no limit to improvement, and the viewer should probably judge about professional analysis.
Q7. What has been your most memorable session, and why?
I've had a lot of memorable photoshoots. Sometimes I wonder how everything goes well. For example, we came for a photoshoot of a Fisherwoman, we had clothes and a fishing rod, which we did not know how to use. Suddenly, a boat arrived with men who allowed us to do a photoshoot in their boat and helped with a fishing rod! I am very grateful to them!
Q8. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?
I use a Nikon camera and a Nikon lens too.
Q9. According to you, what are the skills that are necessary for becoming a successful fashion designer? Also, what is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new designer/photographer looking to start their own business?
I think to become a successful fashion designer, you need fresh ideas, perhaps non-standard materials, clothes should adorn a person, not disfigure. If wearing clothes makes you feel like a queen or a goddess, then these are great clothes! In everyday life, people wear monotonous, comfortable clothes, and only at a photoshoot can a woman fully feel like a woman when she sees that she is gorgeous.
I really love the old national headdress - kokoshnik, and even made one myself. Or I made a dress from autumn leaves for a photoshoot. It looks natural and amazing!
I can advise every designer and photographer to always follow their dreams, constantly study, communicate, and not give up if they fail, because will, perseverance, and work will always lead to a good result.
Q10. What do you think of our new magazine?
I am very glad that there is your magazine! I think you are opening up new opportunities for the masters.
Sincerely, Antonina.
