Swanky Magazine Interviews the wonderfully talented photographer - Natallya Shevchenko
PHOTOGRAPHER SPOTLIGHT | Natallya Shevchenko a Photographer from Minsk, Republic of Belarus
With a detailed eye for all things beauty and her fabulous dark erotic captures, we caught up with Natallya to ask a little more about her journey!
When darkness and cold set in, even the strongest feelings, like love, become weaker. This means that they need to be supported.
Love is the only thing that can survive the cold. You can only feel safe in the knowledge that someone loves you. Nothing else is needed.
Q1 Swanky Mag: Hello Natallya, Can you introduce yourself to Swanky Magazine's readers? Can you tell us a little about you?
Hi, I'm Natalia, a boudoir photographer) I take dark erotic photos. I help girls, men to see the beauty in themselves, to open up. I help to believe that they are beautiful and desirable. That they can be wanted and loved. So that they allow themselves to feel it.
Q2.How and when did you get into photography?
Oh, it happened quite by accident)) I was urgently looking for a job and sent my resume anywhere)) I was a secretary, a database operator, and an artist - about 7 options. Including a photographer) They took me as a photographer! I didn't like it at all, and I wanted to leave)) There are many stereotypes around this profession. But then on Instagram, I saw that it is different) That you can wear a beautiful suit, not get your shoes dirty and take great pictures! I wanted the same)) And then there was the first butt in a bodysuit... About 4 years ago.
Q3.What does photography mean to you?
This is… an opportunity. A tool that helps me fly) Through it, I put my soul, my inner world into what I do, into the people with whom I work. With photographs, I can show that sexuality is a feeling. Feeling yourself. Enjoyment of yourself and your body. At this age, with this figure, this smile) And of course, I enjoy it too)
Q4.Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
I shoot in a low-key. I love dark contrasting photos. I photograph men, women: one at a time or together) Most often nude) I like to show pleasure, interaction, and various manifestations of sexuality.
Q5.Where do you get inspiration from?
This dish takes a long time to prepare)) The first ideas that I have already made appearances in my head. They work 100% and sometimes get in the way of creating something new. Observation helps further. Works by other photographers, artists. Imagery from books, stories of people) Fragments of films, TV series, clips, etc. But at the photo session, all this is mixed together. From above, the atmosphere of the studio and the charisma of the people in front of me are superimposed. And something new and beautiful is born)
Q6.Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?
Yes, there are basic references) But then we create.
Q7.Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
Of course a professional. But what I like the most is I work for people and for myself. I don’t take what I don’t like. And I don't work with those who I don't like) Therefore, people come to me who share my ideas and values. With whom can I do what I love - create. Therefore, the correct answer is perhaps - I am a hobbyist who earns good money)))
Q8. What has been your most memorable session and why?
The first butt in a bodysuit and the first request to undress to nude. These two shootings were fateful for me) At the first one, I realized that I love photography and want to develop in this direction. On the second - that I can do it as I want and get unreal pleasure from work))
Q9. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?
Nikon because it was my first camera) Favorite lens - nikkor 50mm 1.8.
Q10. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
Don't buy a lot of equipment. The best camera is the one you have now) And try as many different styles as possible to find what you burn with. If found - upgrade) Learn, shoot a lot. Make more people know about you.
Q11. What do you think of our new magazine?
I love your values and what you do. I think it's great that your magazine shows the beauty of people of all shapes, nationalities, and gender. Without vulgarity or sexualization nothing.
