Swanky Magazine Interviews the beautiful & blessed - Olga Kozlova
MODEL SPOTLIGHT | Olga Kozlova
Q1. Swanky Mag: Hello Olga, Can you introduce yourself to Swanky Magazine's readers?
Good day to all readers! My name is Olga Kozlova, I am from Russia, from the wonderful city of Kaliningrad. In my life I do two things that give me a lot of pleasure: I am an event maker and a plus-size model.
Q2. How did you get into modeling, and what do you like about modeling?
Friends and acquaintances often told me that I needed to try myself in the modeling business, but I doubted a lot since I paid all my attention to organizing events. But one day, my old friend, who is a wonderful stylist in our city, invited me to shoot a catalog for one brand, knowing that I had no experience. She convinced me that potential is hidden in me and that I am exactly what the customer needs. For me it was an important and interesting step, I felt that it kindled in me an interest to try again. After this shooting, they began to invite me to various events as a model, which allowed me to gain the necessary experience and skills. This is how my journey began.
What do I like? Communication with creative people who know how to make something new and unique from the most ordinary things and ideas. This is creativity in its modern manifestation. This is constant work on yourself, because every day you learn something new, invest in yourself and your appearance, work on your skills and abilities. And also, you learn a lot. For example, you understand how best to apply makeup, look at how stylists work, you learn to combine ordinary things and get fashionable looks, come up with interesting ideas for creative photo shooting. Every day there is something new. It is wonderful.
Q3. What is your main source of inspiration?
Inspiration for me is people and results. When you are constantly among creative people, you feel the desire to create too, and you understand that everyone's contribution will help to make something very global and important out of your idea or thought. You understand that any idea can become reality with your participation.
Q4. How hard has it been establishing yourself in the industry, and what are some of the largest things you've faced?
First of all, the model is the face of the final result. It is important to always be ready to present a product or idea for which you are creating something. So you have to be a "blank slate" for any idea.
There are no secrets, there are rituals that are obligatory for me.
Of course, the most important thing is a good mood and mood for work, but if you help yourself and your body by doing a couple of simple things, then the result and your well-being will be much better.
First of all, it is healthy sleep. It affects everything: mood, fatigue since filming usually lasts a whole day, this requires a lot of effort, this is coordination of movements, this is skin color and shine in the eyes. Nature invented everything for us, the key to success is a healthy body.
The day before shooting, I deny myself salty food and a lot of water to keep my face fresh and not swollen :)
After a lot of cosmetics and hair products, you pay more attention to their health. Therefore, I always find time for procedures that revitalize my skin and hair, so that they look healthy and beautiful, even after many treatments.
In the morning, before shooting, I always do exercises or stretching in order to better feel my body and not be constrained.
But all this must be done not only before shooting but every day. Your body will thank you.
Q5. What kind of impact do you hope to make in the fashion world?
Now I'm thinking about trying to work with a modeling agency. Now I am looking for my agency, which will open up new opportunities and new experiences for me. There are many interesting photo shooting, advertising and dating ahead. I am looking forward to every new collaboration.
I am open to everything new, it energizes me.
