TeaCopeulous Photography Interview: My inspiration comes from different artists deceased and living. I’m not going to name-drop because I don’t want to forget anyone from my list

Swanky Magazine Interviews the wonderfully talented photographer - teacopeulous_photography

PHOTOGRAPHER SPOTLIGHT | TeaCopeulous Photography from Baltimore, Maryland

Q1.Swanky Mag: Hello, Can you introduce yourself to Swanky Magazine's readers? Can you tell us a little about you?

The hardest thing to do in an interview is talk about oneself in the third person. Lol

Hmmm… I don’t take myself too seriously.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Yorkers, NYC. Transported back to Maryland in my younger years. I’m a father of 2 daughters. Like most individuals working full-time. Part-time photographer aiming to become full-time.

Things I do for fun: Gaming, Photography, Spinning time with my daughters, a reasonable sneakerhead, laughing it up with family, and cooking. A simple guy that enjoys the simple pleasures of life.

Q2.How and when did you get into photography?

I got into photography when I was young. My first camera was a Polaroid. Before they added color. Very old school.

Q3.What does photography mean to you?

Photography to me is the passion, creativity, and individuality of positive retrospects.

Q4.Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I would say my style is “Mood Photography”. Whatever I’m in the mood of shooting. I never want to stagnate into a particular label of photography. I would rather be universal, like a human Swiss army my knife.

Q5.Where do you get your inspiration from?

My inspiration comes from different artists deceased and living. I’m not going to name-drop because I

don’t want to forget anyone from my list. I love photos that tell a story without being so literal. For example,

“The Scream” by Edward Munch, it’s abstract and leaves it up to the viewer to interpret the mood.

Q6.Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?

Yes and No. lol I start off with a plan and what I want to capture. Then I end up changing them on the fly. If

I’m shooting a model, I like to get their insight of ideas. I find when you make it a collaborative experience you get more creative images but still stay somewhat to your ideas.

Q7.Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

A paid professional

Q8. What has been your most memorable session, and why?

There was a time during a shoot where the model, while in her pose she let out a toot. We both broke out in

laughter. She was embarrassed but we kept on going. If you’re not having fun at a shoot when what is the

point.

Q9. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Canon. I love my Canon EOS RP. Mirrorless is the way to go, full frame. My favorite lens would be the

85mm. Shhhh…I also own a Sony alpha a6000. Shhhh…it will be our little secret stepchild. Lol Canon for

life.
