Swanky Magazine Interviews the wonderfully talented individual - Talia Walker
ACTOR/ACTRESS SPOTLIGHT | Actress Talia Walker
Q1.Swanky Mag: Hello Talia, Can you introduce yourself to Swanky Magazine's readers? Can you tell us a little about you?
Hi! My name is Talia Walker. I’m a recent graduate from Arts University Bournemouth and an actress.
Q2.How and when did you get into acting?
I got into acting at the age of 11. Actually, I think it was earlier, I would always perform at home, but my lessons started in secondary school.
Q3.What attracted you to begin a career as an actor?
Disney channel. To be more specific, That’s So Raven. Seeing Raven Simone portray the characters she did, and the way she was able to hold my attention, was inspirational to a young me. It was kind of at that moment that I decided my role on this earth is to entertain.
Q4.Did you take up any training in acting?
After secondary school, I went to the Brit School of Performing Arts, as my college, and then I went on to study acting at Arts University Bournemouth.
Q5. Who are your biggest influences?
My biggest influences are Taraji P Henson, Tom Hardy, Leonardo DiCaprio & Michaela Coel
Q6. Which role that you have played you like the most?
The role I liked the most was probably Euelpides in The Birds by Aristophanes. That’s because it was my first time performing a Greek comedy and it was a challenge. It was a fun challenge.
Q7. What do you love about acting?
I love becoming someone else. I love entertaining people. I love telling stories through movement and creativity.
Q8. What has been your most memorable session, and why?
My most memorable session has to be my clowning classes. In my final evaluation, I was performing alongside my classmates when one of them slapped me. He physically connected his hand to my face. Prior to this, I had told him that he should do it, that it would be fine, but a part of me didn’t expect him to go through with it. He did, and it was great! The shock from me created a natural reaction and made the rest of our piece even better because we were all running off the energy.
Q9. Can you tell us a bit about your next project?
Right now I am working alongside the amazing Nichaela Farrell and the beautiful Benita Umurerwa on a screenplay titled ‘That’s Your Friend’. For now, that’s all I’m going to say, but it’s something we all hold dear to us, and I can’t wait to see the outcome.
Q10. Name a character you would want to play.
Storm from X-Men, or any superhero. I would love to be a part of the MCU.
