Cucculelli Shaheen's Fall 2023 collection, 'Les Radiants,' stunned audiences during New York Fashion Week with its intricate and edgy aesthetic.
Drawing inspiration from chaos, classicism, atomic poets, Gotham surrealism, and New York City, designers Anthony Cucculelli and Anna Rose Shaheen delivered a collection of grommeted jackets, matching dresses, and pants which exuded a rock-n-roll vibe that was further elevated by the designer duo's technical abilities.
The makeup look, created by lead artist Nick Lujan, Director of Artistry and Education at Kevyn Aucoin, perfectly complemented the edgy aesthetic of the collection. The look inspired by the radiant beams of light as the sun sets was created with Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow perfectly placed to reflect light. Paired with sharp winged liner which exuded confidence. Beautiful, glowy skin was accentuated with products like Stripped Nude Skin Tint and Sensual Skin Enhancer.
The theme extended to the nails which featured an updated French manicure, designed by Pattie Yankee. The manicure matched each model's skin tones, ending in a bright metallic shade that represented beams of light transcending into the light. The stunning nail look perfectly complemented the radiant and edgy aesthetic of the collection
Key pieces in the collection include dresses with hip cut-outs, drop waist corsets, and lots of sheer lace. One outfit in particular, a low rise black pant set with a matching long coat embellished with metallic accents really made a statement.
The collection's sun motifs were another standout element that added a celestial touch to the collection. The finale dress which featured an intricate radiating sun took an astonishing 2,520 hours to create alone.
