The next edition of the Berlin Fashion Week (BFW) will take place from January 31st to February 3rd, 2025. This schedule aligns the BFW with the international fashion calendar and ensures that visitors from all over the world can attend the event in Berlin.
In recent seasons, the BFW has successfully repositioned itself, becoming an integral part of the international fashion calendar with a steadily growing international audience. Berlin can only meet the expectations of its visitors by enabling industry professionals to attend all major international shows and trade fairs. The decision for the new dates was made in consultation with key international players in the fashion industry, highlighting the BFW's commitment to strengthening and expanding its global relevance. The focus of the BFW remains on supporting German designers who seek to showcase their work to an international audience.
Well-known brands and new talents: Berlin Contemporary 2025
For the fifth consecutive time, the Senate for Economic Affairs, Energy, and Public Enterprises and the Fashion Council Germany have honoured outstanding show and presentation concepts as part of 'Berlin Contemporary'. This season, for the first time, fashion labels based in an African country were invited to apply. From 91 entries, the jury selected 19 labels - including one Ukrainian and one Ghanaian - each of which was awarded prize money of €25,000. The shows of the award-winning labels form the heart of the Berlin Fashion Week schedule. Some of the winners organise their presentations independently, while others utilise the NEWEST or INTERVENTION formats to showcase their collections at unique locations in Berlin.
