The Fall/Winter 2025/26 collection by prêt-à-couture designer Danny Reinke, titled "90 Seconds to Midnight" merges the dark narratives of Heinrich Hoffmann's Struwwelpeter with the metaphor of the Doomsday Clock. This symbolic clock, currently set at 90 seconds to midnight, serves as a warning to humanity about the threat of self-destruction. It is a wake-up call urging greater defiance, resilience, and determination to save the world from collapse, much like the characters in Heinrich Hoffmann's tales. In the collection, the designer translates this concept into a symbiosis of two seemingly opposing forces: the elegant aesthetics of couture and the bold punk elements of the 1980s. The designs reflect the spirit of rebellion—unconventional, fearless, and full of energy. Striking details such as studs, wild cuts, holes, and graphic T-shirts meet shimmering pearls, luminous textures, and references to the Biedermeier era, which are deliberately subverted. The collection bridges the past and future, tradition and revolution, and invites us to confront the challenges of our time with creativity, courage, and solidarity.
