About Forza Collective

The brand and its Debut Collection are the results of Kongshaugs more than 14 years of experience from working with both smaller Houses and large corporations in the leading fashion metropolis including Raf Simons, Christian Dior Couture, Balmain, Lanvin and Theory - the craft he learned in Paris, the commercial knowledge he gained from working in NYC combined with his sense of aesthetics and style. Because that is what Forza Collective is all about: A vision and a style rather than fashion or trends.

INSPIRATION

Juxtapositions, the collection draws inspiration from an ongoing interplay between structure and softness. Kristoffer Kongshaug has explored the 20's period and fused these themes and techniques with a 90's minimalistic touch that aligns with Forza Collective's vision.

The color palette is strong yet subtle, inspiring the viewer to engage in the detailed craftmanship. There is a sense of moving forwards and of embracing a higher power but at the same time an appreciation of history, the value and beauty of something old becoming new.

I fell in love with french illustrations from old magazines dated back to the 20 ́s and 30 ́s featuring draping and alot of focus on a dropped waist line. They were either very strict and structured, or 360 degrees, I like the idea of bringing these to life, and placing them in a more contemporary and modern setting
— Kristoffer Kongshaug

The show is set at a subterranean parking garage located at Ofelia square, next to the most iconic waterfronts in Copenhagen, with a view of the Paper Island and the Royal Opera across the channel. The space is approximately 100 meters underground, the skylight from the surface lightens up the brutalist space and creates a unique architectural presence. The audience is seated on benches alongside concrete walls and pillars.

DETAILS

Ascot collars and extended cuffs on shirts and shirt dresses. Triangle structured inserts on gowns and maxi dresses that cut the draping in architectural lines and create an extended silhouette. Signature pipe pleating on day dresses and leather skirts.

Draped suit pants that create a layered skirt feeling to the look. Tip dyed faux fur with an ombré of black, cream and red tones. Circular hardware made in brushed steel featuring a laser engraved Forza logo developed in collaboration with German Fidlock, used throughout the collection as a closing mechanism on various garments.

KEY PIECES

A knee length single breasted faux fur coat, made with a tip dye technique that creates an ombré effect that blends black, cream and red tones.

Skye blue floor length gown with enlarged triangular front insert and with draped waterfall back detail. Statement coats in italian melange wool, detailed with brushed titanium hardware, horn buttons, faux leather plackets and stormflap details.

A floor length black gown in stone washed jersey, with a 360 drape that creates an exposed back, and extends the silhouette below the hip.

MATERIALS

Wool, tip dyed faux fur, twill, stone washed jersey, mesh, faux leather, cotton poplin.

MUSIC

The sound that accompanies the show is fast paced, captures the essence of the collection and is heavily inspired by futurism and time. Featuring select tracks chosen by Kristoffer Kongshaug, the soundtrack includes a mixture of different artists that all have a futuristic touch. Opening track, Insomnia by Space 92, Middle track, Plastikman by Richie Hawtin. The final track is Bane's chant by Deshi Basara OST.
